Set up auto-renewable subscriptions (Apple)

This guide explains how to set up auto-renewable subscriptions in App Store Connect. We also recommend reading the official guidelines from Apple (here), which also covers introductory offers and promo codes.

Step 1: Login to your App Store Connect account. Select My Apps and select your app.

Step 2: Go to Subscriptions.

Step 3: Then click the plus (+) symbol to add a new Subscription Group. Add a reference name – this isn’t visible to the customer.

Step 4: Scroll down to App Store Localization and select Add Localization (you need to add at least one). Add a Display Name (e.g. app name subscription) – this is visible to the customer.

Step 5: Click on the Subscription Group you added in step 3. Then click the plus (+) symbol to add a new Subscription. Add a reference name (e.g. All access 1 month) – this isn’t visible to the customer. Add a product ID (e.g. app name_monthly_1).

Step 6: Select a Subscription Duration.

Step 7: Under Subscription Prices, select Add Subscription Price. Select your currency and price. It will auto-calculate prices in other currencies, you can change them if you wish (optional).

Step 8: Under App Store Localization, select Add Localization (you need to add at least one). Add a Display Name (e.g. All access) and Description (e.g. Eat healthier, save time, and spend less with recipes and meal plans) – these are visible to the customer.

Step 9: Under Review Information, click Choose File to add a screenshot. This can be a blank 640 x 920 image. Here is one you can use. You will need to update this before launch. Then click Save.

Step 10: Repeat steps 5 to 9 as many times as required.
